Quincy University is proud to invest in the future of Illinois by making a private college education affordable for Illinois students admitted to the University and demonstrate significant financial need as evidenced by the FAFSA.  The Illinois Promise Program will help make a QU education affordable for many working students and their families.

This program will use federal, state and institutional grants and scholarships to cover 100% of tuition and books for eligible Illinois students seeking undergraduate degrees and applies to new students who are Illinois residents, meet all admission requirements for the 2025-2026 academic year, file the FAFSA for the 2025-2026 year, and are eligible for the Illinois Monetary Assistance Program (MAP) and the federal Pell Grant.

Not eligible for the Pell and MAP grants?  No worries!  Through a generous merit scholarship program and other grants and scholarships, QU can still be an affordable option and one of the best values in higher education.

To be eligible for participation in the QU Illinois Promise students must do the following:

  • Be a resident of Illinois
  • Be a newly enrolling student at QU for the 2025-2026 academic year
  • File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2025-2026 award year and have the data sent to Quincy University (school code 001745)
  • Through the FAFSA, be eligible for the federal Pell and Illinois Monetary Assistance Program (MAP) grants
  • Enroll in 15 semester hours each semester and remain enrolled full time and in good academic standing

The Tuition Promise Program is renewable for up to eight semesters of full-time study provided a student remains enrolled for at least 15 credit hours in each semester, is in good academic standing, and completes the FAFSA each year of enrollment.

This program ensures that a high-quality education grounded in Franciscan values is within reach of bright students across our state regardless of economic circumstance.  The QU Illinois Tuition Promise Program is one of many ways the University is living out its Catholic and Franciscan values to help those who work hard and need some help to fulfill their college dreams.

Certain exclusions may apply for students enrolled in QU’s joint undergraduate degree programs, including nursing. The Tuition Promise Program only applies to students for whom Quincy University is the university of record.
